Happy Birthday Great Grandma Kate!

Gallery Disabled for a While

I had to disable the photo gallery temporarily. Our Web host moved our site to a new server this past week and a setting for the gallery software is out of sync with the new server info. It shouldn’t take long to fix but one never knows.

Upcoming Events

We are expecting a big get-together in Ohio this summer as Art and Janet’s 50th anniversary party is coming up!

Remember!!!

Anyone wishing an Amsbaugh.com email address or blog needs only to send an email to webmaster @ amsbaugh.com (without the spaces) and request it! It’s free and forever!! All you need to to is let me know what name you want (such as jr @ amsbaugh.com and/or http://jr.amsbaugh.com) to use for your addresses. You can also use your blog address as your domain for your email (such as jr@ jr.amsbaugh.com). It is very simple for me to set it all up and once it is set up, I will take care of all upgrades as needed.

Star Trek

We saw this yesterday and I must say it is, by far, the best of all of the Star Trek movies. While I must take exception with one tiny little part of the movie (it has to do with McCoy), it really brings forward most of the back story of all of the main characters. It is both light-hearted and serious, which is what made the original series so great. The story line also leaves a LOT of room for more movies (and, can I dream, a new series?) in the way it ends. It’s definitely not all cut and dry.

Now, while I was hoping for a great movie, I went into this show with strong memories of Voyager, Enterprise, and, to a degree, DS9. Those shows were a lot less about what made TOS exceptional and a lot more about the dark side of Trek. This movie has brought back the excitement of Gene Roddenberry’s vision.

I give this movie 5 ears (Vulcan Ears!)

We need a reunion soon!

It’s been quite a while since we have had an Amsbaugh reunion and I think it’s high timee we had another! If anyone in Ohio would like to start planning, I’ll be more than happy to provide Web support for it. Time, location, dress code, etc., can be posted here.

Let’s get this party started!!!!!

Amsbaugh.com Is Now Mobile!

I have added a plugin that enables the site to be viewed from mobile devices such as cell phones. Now you can visit the site even if you aren’t at home! No need to enter a fancy or complicated address, either.

It is not just a right, it’s your responsibility!

New Site is Live!

The NEW Amsbaugh.com is alive as of today! I have migrated the stories from the old software to the new and set up a temporary redirect to here. Once I have everything set up the way I want it, I will move it all back to the regular www address. I have a lot of work to do to get things fully functional but the added security alone makes it worth the wait.

I have to edit most of the stories to get the text to show up but it shouldn’t take too long. I also have to move the photo gallery over and find some things like a guestbook to add in.

Update:
10-18-2008/6:07PM – The photo gallery has been integrated and will need a small amount of work to get fully operational. I will be tweaking the sidebars and still need to look at permissions. You may need to register in the gallery to view certain images but I’m not sure of that just yet.

More info to follow as I get things done.

Update:
10-18-09/6:32PM – In order to access all of the photos in the gallery, you will need to register on this site with a new user id and password. You will just fill in your desired user name and your email address. A password will be generated automatically and sent to you. Once you log in, you will be able to change your password to whatever you want. You will then need to send me a note to let me know that you have done so and wish to get to the photos.

We Won’t Steer You Wrong!

The new steer arrived at the farm yesterday! His name is Diablo, though he is a very gentle beast.

Blockages Removed

All existing blocks have been removed from the site. If you still can’t get in from a specific location, let me know.

New Photos Added!

We have been busy lately and I have uploaded a HUGE number of photos to prove it!

The most recent are from Meeghan’s wedding on Saturday and the shore party on Sunday.

Enjoy!
