We Won’t Steer You Wrong!
The new steer arrived at the farm yesterday! His name is Diablo, though he is a very gentle beast.

We have been busy lately and I have uploaded a HUGE number of photos to prove it! The most recent are from Meeghan’s wedding on Saturday and the shore party on Sunday. Enjoy!
I learned today that my Aunt Marian passed away yesterday at home. She had been ill for some time but I had no idea she was so close to leaving us. I was hoping that she would make it at least long enough to enjoy another family reunion. Our prayers and thoughts go out to Harold Sr., Harold Jr., Rick, Tom, Vicki, Kelly, and all their spouses and kids. We wish we could be there for you all, to say…
The Guest Book is back up already. It contains security features that will prevent spammers from posting things like porn links and such. Be sure to sign the guest book! That’s what it’s there for!!!
Some hacker/pornographer has decided to spam our guest book with filth so I have had to take it off line for a while. I have a newer guest book module that I have to install then import the data from the old one. It will take a day or two until I find the time to get it done…..
Interested in moving to beautiful Washington, New Jersey? This lovely home can be yours for the right price….
Fran passed away in his sleep on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 after coming home from the hospital on Monday. He will be greatly missed, to say the least. He was born in Janesville on Nov. 17, 1929, the son of Alvin R. and Bernice H. (Belken) Burke. He graduated from St. Patrick’s Catholic School and Janesville High School. He served in the US Army in the Air Defense Branch and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1968 after 21 years…
Your prayers are requested for my step-father, Fran Burke. He is in the hospital in dire condition and needs your prayers and good thoughts of all kinds. He has several things going on at once in his body and he and my mom can use all the good wishes you can send their way.
I have added and started work on a new genealogy section for the Amsbaugh family. Just go to http://www.amsbaugh.com/gedview to see how far I have gotten so far. If you have anything to add or see something that needs to be corrected, just send a message via the feedback link.
Just got home from work and wanted to say a (bit late) Happy Birthday to my little sister, Janet! Wooohooo! We’re now the same age for 11 days! Ach, we’re getting so old!!!! I hope you had a great day!
Please pray for my wonderful Aunt Marian. She is very ill and all our prayers are desperately needed. She and Uncle Harold celebrated their 50th anniversary just a few months ago in May and I, for one, would like for them to have many more years together.
Here is one photo of the front of the St. cloud Hotel here in Washington. This was just a couple of days after the fire that gutted this historic building. They have since torn down the biulding, except for the brick wall in the front. Click on the photo to go to the photo album for more pics of the fire.
We went to our friend’s house yesterday for food, drink, and fun! We took a few photos which are in the gallery. There’s even a short video discussion about the word “orange.” Remember that you have to be registered and logged in to view the galley!
The St. Cloud Hotel burned last night. It is another historic building here in Washington, NJ, to go up in flames. I wrote another note about the local hardware store that burned to the ground last year. There are many people talking about how they think this is part of the “rejuvenation” plan for the borough. It does seem highly suspicious that a second historic building has been destroyed by fire in just over a year. Our local fire department…
I have added an entry to my blog in regards to 9/11. I don’t think it is appropriate for this space but would appreciate your taking a look at it. http://blog.amsbaugh.com
Our birthday party photos are in the gallery! There’s even a brief video that I took with our still camera. Be sure to check them out! Remember that you have to be registered and logged in to see the gallery.
It’s been a while since I have had the chance to upload pictures so there are a LOT of them! Take a look in the photo gallery under July and August.
This day marks the 231st anniversary of the passage of the Declaration of Independence. Too many people look at it as just another holiday to get off of work and eat food outdoors. To them, I give the following from the Patriot Post: Our nation began with these stirring words in the Declaration of Independence: “When in the Course of human Events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and…
I uploaded a bunch of photos to the photo gallery the other day. They are in both the “JR & Alyssa” album and the “Mom Burke” album. We have Mothers Day, Easter, and other photos for your viewing pleasure! There will be more as Mom gets her photos scanned.
