Gallery Disabled for a While

I had to disable the photo gallery temporarily. Our Web host moved our site to a new server this past week and a setting for the gallery software is out of sync with the new server info. It shouldn’t take long to fix but one never knows.

Upcoming Events

We are expecting a big get-together in Ohio this summer as Art and Janet’s 50th anniversary party is coming up!

Star Trek

We saw this yesterday and I must say it is, by far, the best of all of the Star Trek movies. While I must take exception with one tiny little part of the movie (it has to do with McCoy), it really brings forward most of the back story of all of the main characters. It is both light-hearted and serious, which is what made the original series so great. The story line also leaves a LOT of room for more movies (and, can I dream, a new series?) in the way it ends. It’s definitely not all cut and dry.

Now, while I was hoping for a great movie, I went into this show with strong memories of Voyager, Enterprise, and, to a degree, DS9. Those shows were a lot less about what made TOS exceptional and a lot more about the dark side of Trek. This movie has brought back the excitement of Gene Roddenberry’s vision.

I give this movie 5 ears (Vulcan Ears!)

We need a reunion soon!

It’s been quite a while since we have had an Amsbaugh reunion and I think it’s high timee we had another! If anyone in Ohio would like to start planning, I’ll be more than happy to provide Web support for it. Time, location, dress code, etc., can be posted here.

Let’s get this party started!!!!!

Rest in Peace Aunt Marian

Marian and Harold ChambersI learned today that my Aunt Marian passed away yesterday at home. She had been ill for some time but I had no idea she was so close to leaving us. I was hoping that she would make it at least long enough to enjoy another family reunion.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to Harold Sr., Harold Jr., Rick, Tom, Vicki, Kelly, and all their spouses and kids. We wish we could be there for you all, to say the least. Over the next few days, I will post about some of my favorite memories in my blog.

More Prayers Needed

Your prayers are requested for my step-father, Fran Burke. He is in the hospital in dire condition and needs your prayers and good thoughts of all kinds. He has several things going on at once in his body and he and my mom can use all the good wishes you can send their way.

New Genealogy Page

I have added and started work on a new genealogy section for the Amsbaugh family. Just go to http://www.amsbaugh.com/gedview to see how far I have gotten so far. If you have anything to add or see something that needs to be corrected, just send a message via the feedback link.
