Fran passed away in his sleep on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 after coming home from the hospital on Monday. He will be greatly missed, to say the least. He was born in Janesville on Nov. 17, 1929, the son of Alvin R. and Bernice H. (Belken) Burke. He graduated from St. Patrick’s Catholic School and Janesville High School. He served in the US Army in the Air Defense Branch and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1968 after 21 years…
Your prayers are requested for my step-father, Fran Burke. He is in the hospital in dire condition and needs your prayers and good thoughts of all kinds. He has several things going on at once in his body and he and my mom can use all the good wishes you can send their way.
I have added and started work on a new genealogy section for the Amsbaugh family. Just go to http://www.amsbaugh.com/gedview to see how far I have gotten so far. If you have anything to add or see something that needs to be corrected, just send a message via the feedback link.
Just got home from work and wanted to say a (bit late) Happy Birthday to my little sister, Janet! Wooohooo! We’re now the same age for 11 days! Ach, we’re getting so old!!!! I hope you had a great day!
Please pray for my wonderful Aunt Marian. She is very ill and all our prayers are desperately needed. She and Uncle Harold celebrated their 50th anniversary just a few months ago in May and I, for one, would like for them to have many more years together.
We went to our friend’s house yesterday for food, drink, and fun! We took a few photos which are in the gallery. There’s even a short video discussion about the word “orange.” Remember that you have to be registered and logged in to view the galley!
Our birthday party photos are in the gallery! There’s even a brief video that I took with our still camera. Be sure to check them out! Remember that you have to be registered and logged in to see the gallery.
It’s been a while since I have had the chance to upload pictures so there are a LOT of them! Take a look in the photo gallery under July and August.
I uploaded a bunch of photos to the photo gallery the other day. They are in both the “JR & Alyssa” album and the “Mom Burke” album. We have Mothers Day, Easter, and other photos for your viewing pleasure! There will be more as Mom gets her photos scanned.
Harold and Marian Chambers will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary May 4, 2007 with a family dinner for 52 family members from 8 states at Dutch Heritage on May 5, 2007. The former Marian Amsbaugh and Harold were married May 4, 1957 at First Presbyterian Church in Mansfield, Ohio by Dr. James Brown. Here’s a blast from the past! Taken in the ’70’s (probably 1976), this is my mom, our dog Duffer, and Janet. Think the ladies have changed at all since then? I’ll be scanning some more of some photos I found recently over the coming days and will likely embarrass many people, myself included. Keep your heads down!
Merry Christmas from us to all of you out there!
My momma went to visit her sister, my Aunt Darlene, in Michigan recently. You can see her photos in the gallery!
We went to Cobleskill, NY, this past weekend for a visit with the cousins. See our photos in the gallery!
We have some photos from father’s day in the gallery. I am in some of them, too! Take a look and see what I looked like this past weekend.
I have added some photos to the gallery today. Some are from the recent work I have been doing on the house and some are from Alyssa’s outings with her friends. Take a look!
If you were wondering where we were in February of 2000, wonder no more:
We have converted over to Voice-over-IP phone service and our provider is getting things wrong! Our phone number was supposed to be moved onto our new service last Wednesday but wasn’t! In the mean time, if you call our number it gives a message that it has been disconnected, which it has been because our old phone account has been cancelled for the transfer. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a 14-day procedure has now turned into an 18-day procedure…
Aunt Linda is in the hospital and needs your prayers! She was admitted last week and needs all she can get. Good wishes, prayers, and special thoughts are all welcome!
It snowed about a week ago and I finally got the pictures up! Take a look in the gallery!
