Remember!!!

Anyone wishing an Amsbaugh.com email address or blog needs only to send an email to webmaster @ amsbaugh.com (without the spaces) and request it! It’s free and forever!! All you need to to is let me know what name you want (such as jr @ amsbaugh.com and/or http://jr.amsbaugh.com) to use for your addresses. You can also use your blog address as your domain for your email (such as jr@ jr.amsbaugh.com). It is very simple for me to set it all up and once it is set up, I will take care of all upgrades as needed.

Amsbaugh.com Is Now Mobile!

I have added a plugin that enables the site to be viewed from mobile devices such as cell phones. Now you can visit the site even if you aren’t at home! No need to enter a fancy or complicated address, either.

New Site is Live!

The NEW Amsbaugh.com is alive as of today! I have migrated the stories from the old software to the new and set up a temporary redirect to here. Once I have everything set up the way I want it, I will move it all back to the regular www address. I have a lot of work to do to get things fully functional but the added security alone makes it worth the wait.

I have to edit most of the stories to get the text to show up but it shouldn’t take too long. I also have to move the photo gallery over and find some things like a guestbook to add in.

Update:
10-18-2008/6:07PM – The photo gallery has been integrated and will need a small amount of work to get fully operational. I will be tweaking the sidebars and still need to look at permissions. You may need to register in the gallery to view certain images but I’m not sure of that just yet.

More info to follow as I get things done.

Update:
10-18-09/6:32PM – In order to access all of the photos in the gallery, you will need to register on this site with a new user id and password. You will just fill in your desired user name and your email address. A password will be generated automatically and sent to you. Once you log in, you will be able to change your password to whatever you want. You will then need to send me a note to let me know that you have done so and wish to get to the photos.

Blockages Removed

All existing blocks have been removed from the site. If you still can’t get in from a specific location, let me know.

Guest Book is open again!

The Guest Book is back up already. It contains security features that will prevent spammers from posting things like porn links and such.

Be sure to sign the guest book! That’s what it’s there for!!!

Guest Book Offline for a bit

Some hacker/pornographer has decided to spam our guest book with filth so I have had to take it off line for a while. I have a newer guest book module that I have to install then import the data from the old one. It will take a day or two until I find the time to get it done…..

Want to Have Your Own Blog at Amsbaugh.com?

Yes, now you can have your own blog at Amsbaugh.com! As a way to bring in hosting donations for Amsbaugh.com, I have come up with the idea of giving out blog space. For a one-time donation of just $10, you can have your own Amsbaugh.com domain complete with blog software installed. Alyssa has alyssa.amsbaugh.com, I have blog.amsbaugh.com, and YOU can have one, too! Plus, it will be yours FOREVER! I have owned the Amsbaugh.com domain for more than 11 years and will keep the sub-domains going for as long as I continue to own it.

To get started, just click the Donation on the left side of the page. Once your donation is received, we will get started setting you up with a blog page! You can have yourname.amsbaugh.com or whatever else hasn’t been taken already (as long as it’s family safe!) We should be able to et you up and running within 48 hours. You will also be linked in our Family Blogs block on the left so everyone who can find ww.Amsbaugh.com can find your blog.

We will always make sure that all content falls within the Family Safe area that Amsbaugh.com maintains. Any blog that habitually (more than 3 times) goes over the edge will be removed with or without notice.

BIG NEWS!

I have opened a new store to help offset costs of the Web site! You can now buy merchandise from Amsbaugh.com and help to keep me from going broke! Just click on the CafePress link on the left and choose from our current selections. Items will change often but we are starting out with mostly 2002 Reunion themed items. I only have a small markup on the items so the more you buy the better. I will be adding more stuff very shortly so check in often!

There are display issues with the module so until I can get this fixed, you can go to http://www.cafepress.com/spockman to order directly from the store.

Testing a new theme for the site

I still need to make a logo and tweak a few things but I might keep this one for a while. Just to be different, of course. The old white thing was boring me.

Some more new stuff

I added a blog for Alyssa the other day, which brings the total number of blogs on this site to 2. She has not added anything to it so far but will probably be quite prolific in the long run. You can get to it via the link on the left.

I also added a few photos to the gallery. Look under May 31 and June 1 to see our roses and our new kitchen faucet. It took 4.5 hours in total yesterday to remove the old one and install the new one. It was quite an ordeal.

New Blog Page Added

I have started a blog for my somewhat daily thoughts. I may or may not add to it daily but it should be pretty regular. I will do this kind of thing there rather than here to keep this site from being over-run with my drivel.

What the…?

For some reason there was a setting in the site security software that was telling the world the site was down. It didn’t show this message to me (I still don’t know why) so I had no idea it was happening or for how long. This has been resolved so EVERYONE should be able to get in now.

All because hackers are rampant on the Web. Their mothers are crack-whores and their fathers are pigs.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Also note that I found some more photos while cleaning up. So far, most are from 2000. Take a look and see if you can recognize anyone!

Hey, there are new photos in the gallery!

We took lots of pictures on Easter weekend and they are now in the gallery! I also found some old ones from 1999 (not very many yet but still…). There are some new ones from 2002, also and some of those are from Jay.

Enjoy!

New Amsbaugh.com Logo

It was late, I couldn’t sleep, and I wanted to spruce up the site logo a bit. How did I do?

Update your favorites!

I have finally integrated the Photo Gallery into the site today. There are a small number of tweaks that I need to finish but it is mostly functional.

You will need to update your favorites if you have one for the old Photo Gallery location.

New Amsbaugh Map!

I have added a special map where all Amsbaughs can add themselves to let everyone else know where we are! On the left-hand side, you’ll see a block called Frappr! Just click on the link and add your name, zip code, and a shout-out (you need to add all three or nothing will show on the map). You can even upload a photo of yourself!

Happy Halloween!

In case you couldn’t tell, we have a new holiday theme for October. It’s just for October, not November! Stay tuned for more!

More is Coming, I Promise!

Things will be appearing here, soon, I promise! I have some time on my hands and things to say so come back!

Adding my personal touches…

I am taking some time today to upgrade the graphics and other design features of the site. You might have noticed the new logo at the top of the page. I’m not too crazy about the borders so I’ll have to figure out what I want to do with them. Colors are definitely going to change but I haven’t started ot think about them. Suggestions are more than welcome!

The registrar screwed up this week

The registrar I use for my domain names messed up this week and didn’t renew our domain name, Amsbaugh.com. This made the site unavailable for a couple of days. I have all of my addresses set to auto-renew but for some reason they didn’t and suspended it instead. $8 and 48 hours later we’re back up and running.
